I’ve acquired good work ethics for when I get out next year
I have been an inmate at Florence West for the past four years and I have one year remaining. Since working for United Fiber for the past six months, I have been able to re-polish and apply myself on working hard and acquiring good work ethics for when I get out next year. Being on the yard doesn’t compare to working and developing skills.
People skills also get brushed up on because of the interaction with civilian personnel on a daily basis. The money is decent so it really helps with getting commissary on a weekly basis. The retention (savings account) helps when it’s time to leave- you’ll have some nice pocket change to help with a place to live (or for whatever reason). I feel blessed to be asked to work here, and very thankful.
