Following recent guidelines from the CDC, the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is distributing face coverings for all agency employees. They will be used to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19.
The inmates making the face coverings are part of ADCRR’s Arizona Correctional Industries program. The program helps inmates develop marketable skills and strong work habits. It also allows them to make a contribution during this time of needs.
ADCRR Director David Shinn says “the face coverings will provide an extra level of protection to reduce potential spread of COVID-19 among the inmate population.” He goes on to say, “it will take all of us, doing our part, to protect those at higher risk and to keep our employees and inmates safe and healthy.”
