JOB SUMMARY:

ACI is seeking a qualified Outside Sales Representative to join a non-appropriated $40 million industry where they will contribute to the success of the organization while earning a salary with commission. JOB DUTIES:

  • Meets with current customers
  • Writes reports and bids
  • Works with contracts
  • Schedules daily calls to customers
  • Reviews production orders with manufacturing supervisors
  • Drives on State business
  • Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

SPECIAL SELECTION FACTOR(S) – THE FOLLOWING ARE REQUIRED:

Requires possession of, and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12).

Knowledge of:

  • Time and management practices
  • Basic business principles and public relations practices
  • Marketing and Business-to-Business outside sales techniques
  • Wholesale and retail sales practices
  • Manufacturing operations
  • Pricing bids, contracts, and procurement procedures
  • Passenger vehicle operation

  • Problem solving
  • Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships

Ability to:

  • Work in a correctional environment
  • Assess customer requirements and make sound decisions
  • Adhere to and enforce department policies and procedures
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Supervise workers

SELECTIVE PREFERENCE(S) – IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:

  • Professional and/or college level training courses in sales psychology, techniques, etc.
  • Five (5) or more years outside sales experience in a manufacturing environment, including new account development

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and drug test*.

RETIREMENT:

    Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
