I have enjoyed working here and developed many skills to help me succeed upon my release

I have been working for the Safety Services Company/ACI here at the Yuma Prison Complex. I have been employed since May 15, 2015 and during that time I have enjoyed working here and developed a lot of skills to help me succeed upon my release. My job has kept me out of the prison drama for almost my entire sentence and kept my mind focused in areas such as keeping tuned in with being a part of society as well as working with civilian staff. Without the ACI job, I believe I would have not been as prepared to get back into the real world. Not only that, but it has also kept me up on my public interaction with being a productive member of society while working on the phones and talking with customers and clients. I think that with not being able to work ACI. 1.) I would not be able to take care of myself the way that I have been doing so. 2.) I think that without jobs like this to help we would be one step further from the goals of getting mentally and physically ready to be part of the community. 3.) I think that we would fall victim to being institutionalized from the prison aspect of things. Working ACI allows me to miss most of the prison drama. Of course, the bonus of getting paid the highest in the prison complex in Yuma, AZ and helping to be able to take care of myself both in here and allowing me to save retention funds for my release will only help me succeed even further.

Thank you for your time.
