Challenge: As one of the premier, custom car transport manufacturers in the country, management needed to increase production to keep up with all the orders it was getting in 2012. But the labor pool in the remote northwest corner of Arizona was pretty small.
Solution: Contacted by the Labor Partnership team, they explained their situation and, though until then ACI had not partnered with organizations that sold products out side of Arizona, a program was set up within the ASP Kingman prison complex. It was ACI's first PIE program allowing the inmates to earn wages on a par with their civilian colleagues and also allows JimGlo to sell the trailers outside of Arizona. This successful partnership currently employees 17 inmates each day (on average), learning real-world jobs skills as they fabricate high-end custom trailers.
